Boreal Forest
Boreal Forest are the largest biome on land. It is also known as coniferous forest. In summer, the temperature range is about -7° C to 21° C. During summer, it is mostly warm, rainy and humid. The main seasons are winter and summer. Although, there is also spring and autumn which are very short. Due to the harsh conditions, there are not a lot of plants as they are unable to survive the extreme weather. The most common trees found are the coniferous trees (also known as evergreens). Unlike others, evergreens don't loose their leaves in the winter. Evergreens usually grow close together and are thin, which his gives them protection from the cold and wind. The animals found in boreal forest are usually predators such as the lynx, bobcat, minks and ermine. They hunt herbivores like snowshoe rabbits, red squirrels and voles. Red deer, elk and moose are found in regions where more deciduous trees grow. Countries like Russia, Canada and China are some other countries that have boreal forest.
