Tropical Forest
Tropical Forests are found near the equator with little variation in temperature. Tropical Forests also have no recognisable in their season changes. There are many uniques ecosystems. Tropical Forests are the home of over half of the world’s species that have been part of the ecosystem for thousands of year. The forest has supplied our ancestors with wood, plants, fruits, medicines, cloths and other materials, since the beginning. The climate of a tropical forest is very humid. In a year, the average rainfall of a tropical forest is about 250 cm. The plants’ adaptation to the environment allows them shed water off their leaves quickly so that their branches don't break from being weighed down. Many plants found in tropical forest have drip tips, grooved leaves and some leaves have oily coatings to help them shed water. There are over 2,500 species of vines that grows in the tropical forest. The animals also adapt and common characteristics of the animals found are bright colours, loud vocalizations and heavy diet on fruits. Insects like coloured butterflies, camouflaged stick insects, ants and mosquitoes are commonly found in tropical forest. Countries like Brazil, Congo, Peru, Indonesia and Colombia have the largest areas of tropical forests.
