Grassland
Grasslands are located in every continent except Antarctica. There are three types of grasslands, tall grasslands, mixed grasslands and short grasslands. Tall grasslands have tall grass that grows up to 152 cm. Mixed grasslands have grasses that grow to about 60-90 cm tall. Short grasslands have short grasses and receive little rainfall. During the summer, it is moist and humid. In winter, the temperature is cold. Grassland’s common plants are grasses. Unlike other plants, grasses grow from the base and not the top. Animals can hide very easily in grasses. Larger animals are unable to hide, so they protect themselves using speed and camouflage. Animals include elephants, lions, zebra, giraffes, cheetah, rhinoceros, snakes, insects and mice. Grasslands can be found in Argentina, Australia, China, Mexico and many more.
